Description:
To provide an accurate and profitable actions process within the scope of customer and legal requirements in
order to achieve successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Create estimates using electronic estimating software to produce accurate and profitable tenders/actions to meet the requirements given by the client.
- Determine product requirements for individual contracts and source quality materials that meet necessary standards whilst achieving the best possible price.
- Obtain estimates for sub-contract and supplier services, meeting with providers where required to set specific service standards and issue Lantern terms and conditions of business.
- To identify and assess risks within contract terms and proposed designs and produce actions in order to mitigate risks as far as is reasonably practicable.
- To negotiate favourable contract terms.
- Maintain and record tender/action details in the database and ensure accurate record keeping.
- Carry out negotiations with main contract quantity surveyors, offer value engineering ideas to maintain profitability of project and reduce onerous contractual terms.
- To follow up on actions to obtain information on the outcome in order to identify areas for improvement in future actions.
- Liaise with Directors and other key business individuals to discuss projects, risks, agree rates, installations and profit margins.
- Liaise with quantity surveyor to review contracts and discuss final contract requirements.
- Create detailed contract files for successful tenders including project costs, specifications, payment terms etc.
- Liaise with clients regarding contract requirements and scrutinise paperwork to ensure any amendments are agreed and signed off.
- Liaise with Contracts Manager to provide an accurate and effective handover agenda and ensure continued communication where necessary.
- To assist with the development of, and to maintain, robust processes with an emphasis driven through Quality Cost and Delivery.
- Liaise with customers and work with other internal departments to ensure the highest standards are met.
- Continuous improvement of methods and processes in terms of both quality and efficiency.
