Description:
As the Sales Manager Industrial UK, you will be responsible for key accounts with OE customers and specialized distributors within industrial market segments, with a focus on UK Defence business. You will also lead the Sales Manager for the Industrial UK market segments and collaborate closely with Category Managers to develop and execute targeted market segment strategies.
Your primary objective will be to build, maintain, and expand relationships with customers, contributing to the growth of the business. You will be a key player in driving customer satisfaction and sales growth, particularly through existing distributors and specialized dealers, as well as developing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for assigned UK customers on all topics.
- Develop and execute business plans in alignment with group targets and provide input for annual planning, quarterly forecasts, and monthly sales projections.
- Define and execute strategies, aligning with the overall industry segment strategy in cooperation with Category Managers.
- Develop and grow the UK Defence business, driving sales through distributors and specialized dealers.
- Foster strong relationships with new and existing partners to expand the business.
- Communicate across all sites involved in business activities and projects (requires on-site presence).
- Lead the business acquisition process, including following up on business opportunities before receiving an RFQ, through the decision phase, and until product launch.
- Check feasibility regarding technical, commercial, legal, and timing dimensions, involving other relevant internal functions as needed.
- Submit quotations and negotiate pricing in coordination with Director Sales Europe.
- Negotiate customer contracts (e.g., Long-Term Agreements, Warranty Agreements) in alignment with legal departments.
- Manage customer performance ratings (delivery, quality, cost) for all sites involved.
- Regularly review reporting activities and results (e.g., pipeline management, net sales, gross margin, overdue’s, quality, delivery).
Qualifications & Skills:
- University degree or equivalent education in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in the Defence and/or Marine industry.
- Strong strategic and business acumen with a customer-centric approach.
- Excellent customer relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of product, customer, and market dynamics.
- Familiarity with quality systems and standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
- Self-motivated and driven individual with strong commercial and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
- Ability to coordinate European strategies and lead a virtual, multi-cultural sales team.
- Fluency in local language and technical English (written and spoken); additional language skills are preferred.
- Willingness to travel frequently within and outside the UK.
