Originally, Martek was set up in the Dearne Valley to help regenerate the area in 2000 post the decline of the mining industry. Many of the team have been with the company since the start, having progressed and developed into various departments.
A typical week in this role might include:
- Reviewing urgent customer emails that have come in from your overseas customers overnight
- Running through your follow-up calls
- Prepping for the daily service huddle with the team, providing updates on upcoming field service attendances so that the Service Engineers and Coordinators are aware of the potential upcoming jobs
- Hitting the phones during the company-wide ‘Power Hours’ where you’ll proactively contact your customer base consisting of Fleet Superintendents or Purchasers for vessels due their annual service or spares upgrade
- Processing incoming purchase orders
- Working through request for quotes working closely with the projects team and engineers to get the scope and system specifications for a bespoke solution you’re working on
- Analysing sales pipeline data and forecasting future revenue, ready for a commercial review with your Leader
- Assisting a Superintendent with a last-minute service request, enabling them to continue sailing safely with their Martek fixed system fully operational
- Closing the sale on a fleet contract deal that you proposed to secure a long-term contract for a key account and booking a Teams meet to finalise its’ roll out.
