Risk & Governance Consultant

This is role is key to the business as the focus is on minimising supply risk across the group through maintenance, embedding and oversight of our procurement and outsourcing business standard. You will drive risk oversight and mitigation within group procurement, represent group procurement in review of all regulatory change which may impact our supply chain. Acting, as the subject matter expert and role model you will lead on all 2nd and 3rd line activity on behalf of our Group Procurement maintaining a rigorous focus on operational risks to group procurement.

 

Additionally, you will maintain appropriate records and ensure that controls are sufficiently well designed and operating effectively to keep the risks that they mitigate within the required tolerance level. Report and escalate the status of the relevant risks and controls as appropriate and support the group P&O standard owner to ensure that the content of the standard remains up to date, fit for purpose by promptly reviewing and approving (or rejecting) any requests. Whilst ensuring that the risks and controls associated with their business standard are communicated to and understood by relevant contacts in the businesses, including ensuring that any updates to the standard are communicated.

 

 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Good understanding of Risk and Governance methodologies within procurement and their application with a comprehensive understanding of UK and Irish Financial Services Third Party Regulations
  • Financial Services industry experience is a must with knowledge of and experience complying with regulations governing third party management in financial services such as those produced by the PRA, CBI, and FCA (SYSC)
  • Excellent stakeholder management through great communication & relationship management skills with the ability to influence and manage expectations at all levels of the organisation and present complex information in a straightforward and clear manner
  • Proven track record of planning, attention to detail, and delivery of appropriate actions and responses that balance risk, financial exposure, reputation, supplier relationships and stakeholder requirements
  • Must have experience working in a procurement risk function
