Restoration Ecologist

In collaboration with your ecology colleagues and other environmental and health and safety disciplines, these new roles will support a variety of multi-disciplinary projects, with a key focus on supporting ecological, ornithological and invasive species surveys, managing field data, writing technical reports and supporting habitat restoration and management.

These can be full-time or flexible roles. You will be joining a small team with a big prospects for growth across multiple ecological restoration projects, where you will be given the opportunity to develop your career and help shape the future of HAR.

The roles will be home based, and therefore location is not an issue. They will be well remunerated and will require plenty of interesting travel and field work around the UK, its offshore islands, the Channel Islands and potentially overseas.

Qualifications:

• Ornithological/ ecological survey experience.
• Experienced in field work, enjoying working outdoors, with an ambition to learn new skills and innovative methods of working.
• Willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork in the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands and internationally.
• Knowledge of ecological restoration principles is advantageous.
• Experience with seabird conservation projects including management of invasive predatory species and biosecurity is a plus.
• Good report writing skills, displaying high standards with attention to detail and ability to write accurately and concisely.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of wildlife legislation including planning processes is desirable.
• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Applied Biology or related field.
• Gained or are working towards membership of CIEEM, IEMA or equivalent
• Full clean driving license.
