The Responsible Investment Analyst role exists to provide vital ESG research and integration to private debt asset classes within Aviva Investors, including but not limited to infrastructure debt, real estate debt, structured finance, and private corporate debt. Covering both Aviva mandates and external strategies but with a focus on a new multi asset private debt product, the role will deliver ESG insights and opinions concerning transactions, whilst developing broader research materials to support the growth of the origination pipeline. This will be a deal focused role, focused on supporting Aviva Investors’ investment committees to make fully considered investment decisions which reflect the aspirations of our clients and their capital, whilst ensuring our need to deploy capital at scale and speed are delivered upon. The role delivers value to Aviva Investors by protecting it from reputational and stakeholder risk, which in turn delivers value through improved investment performance, and customer attraction and retention. The role will form part of the Aviva Investors Real Assets responsible investment research and strategy team and so will also have the opportunity to influence government and regulators through contributing to holistic stewardship and market reform activities.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a relevant consulting, banking or in house role where you have produced ESG opinions, insights, or due diligence.

  • Basic knowledge of SFDR, SDR and TCFD and how these affect the operational context for financial services companies.

  • French speaking will be a preferred ability as you will need to work with our Paris private credit office.

  • Your personal focus on sustainability will be over and above being interested, you will have interests or pursuits which relate to sustainability, and you will have read extensively on the subject to complement your academic and extra-curricular activities.

  • Capability to research, present and communicate complex data and insight in written and graphic form, and skilled in concise and accurate business writing.
