Residential Teaching Assistant

Description:

A Social Emotional and Mental Health residential school are looking for full time and long term Teaching Assistants to work with them. The school is difficult to access on public transport so a UK driving licence is preferred.

This role will be term time only and candidates must have relevant experience, for example in SEND or SEMH schools/with SEMH students.

Experience in an alternative provision, SEMH school or residential setting where challenging behaviours have been dealt with, is the type of professional working background the school are looking for.

• Have experience with children or young adults (essential)
• Be able to work with and support SEMH pupils
• Have a professional manner
• Be friendly and highly resilient
• Be able to provide relevant references to comment on the relevant skills for this role
• Have excellent behaviour management skills, or be willing to learn
• Support young adults who may require 1:1 support
• Build great relationships with staff and children
• Be able to work on site and off site, managing behaviours in both areas
• Be flexible in the workplace
