Description:
The successful candidate will contribute to a longitudinal study on the use of cognitive behavioural markers to predict psychosis onset and relapse funded by the Academy of Medical Sciences. The appointed person will play a key role in processing and analysing data and preparing publications. The person will be based in the Academic Psychiatry Division of IoPPN at KCL and will work closely with the PI for this study, Dr Kelly Diederen (https://kclpure.kcl.ac.uk/portal/kelly.diederen.html) and other investigators based at King’s College London, in particular Dr Tom Spencer ( https://kclpure.kcl.ac.uk/portal/tom.spencer.html).
The successful candidate will have an MSc degree in Psychology or a related area and will need experience in conducting research, including computational modelling of behavioural data, and online experimental design using Typescript or JavaScript and the Gorilla experiment builder. Experience in online assessment of learning and decision-making and advanced statistics using R, Python and Matlab are also essential. This position may suit a researcher aiming to commence a PhD in computational psychiatry or psychology.
The successful candidate will be part of a larger programme of research on cognitive behavioural markers of psychosis at King’s College London and will interact with clinical fellows, postdoctoral researchers, PhD and MSc students.
This post will be offered on an a full-time, fixed-term start from February 2024 or as soon as possible thereafte until 31st July 2024.
Key responsibilities
Monitor and ensure data quality and integrity.
Process and analyse data using advanced statistics and computational modelling.
Prepare data for publication and draft manuscripts.
Improve task design and its online implementation where needed.
Collaborate with academic colleagues on areas of shared research interest.
Attend and contribute to relevant meetings.
