Description:
As the In-Service Inspection & Repair Engineer you will collaborate on the Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design activities and experimental facilities, focusing-on the design, development and qualification of in-service inspection devices and systems with particular reference, but not limited to, operation in molten lead or extreme environmental conditions.
What You’ll be Doing:
Reporting to the Mechatronics & In-Service Inspection Design Head of Unit, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the execution of design activities for the In-Service Inspection and Repair (ISI&R) in the field of LFR, in accordance with best engineering practices, also exploring innovative solutions to technical challenges and problems.
- Defining the objectives and requirements to be achieved to guarantee in-service inspectability and repairability of components.
- Defining in detail the technical solutions to achieve them: sensors, carriers, complete measurement systems, methods.
- Plan accordingly the studies or subcontracting that will be necessary for your scope and integrate it harmoniously into a larger scope.
- Technical evaluation and alignment of manufacturer bids for the supply of equipment.
- Commission or carry out internal design and justification studies, monitor them and produce regular progress.
- Regularly solicit specialized companies to guarantee the feasibility and industrialization of your technical proposals at the best cost, monitor developments.
- Coordinate internal and external interfaces (design, handling, I&C, operation, safety, fluid circuits, systems, BOP, repair, etc.) and streamline communication.
- Participate to the definition of the development and qualification plans, and monitor their execution.
- Preparation and participation in kick-off meetings, review meetings, design meetings and studies.
- Ensure that equipment manufacturers are delivering in accordance with the defined design and manage non-conformities. Supervise expediting.
- Verify the technical correctness of the engineering documents produced when the task is delegated by the Line Manager.
- Contribute to the development and update of newcleo’s General Specifications and standard procedures in the discipline.
