Reliability Technician – Mechanical

 

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Technician to support the Conformance & Reliability Supervisor in developing and executing a comprehensive predictive and preventive maintenance program aimed at improving equipment reliability. The position involves working with various techniques such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and wear monitoring to maintain and enhance plant operations. The role is located in Rugby, Warwickshire, with a Monday-Friday work schedule and competitive salary plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering predictive and preventive maintenance strategies to support plant reliability.
  • Use predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
  • Implement preventive maintenance strategies like lubrication, component replacement, and running checks.
  • Identify and resolve issues using RCA and FMEA processes.
  • Contribute to safety initiatives to ensure a safe working environment in line with UK legislation.
  • Maintain plant reliability through effective planning and execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities are well-documented.
  • Support annual plant shutdowns and ensure maximum plant safety and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with area coordinators and team members.

Candidate Attributes Required:

  • Strong understanding of reliability maintenance principles and condition monitoring.
  • Proficient in utilizing vibration analysis, tribology, thermography, and ultrasound techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with mechanical, electrical, and reliability technicians.
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Comfortable working in a heavy engineering environment and performing hands-on tasks.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) or a time-served apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in the heavy engineering industry is essential.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices in an engineering environment.
