Change Grow Live are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to our Service Users lives, offering support and respect in a safe environment, treating each user as an individual and working with them to find the right treatment and care options.
Recovery Motivators will
- Work as part of the Croydon Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service to build relationships that assist service users and the wider community to address the harm caused by drug and alcohol misuse.
- Draw on their own knowledge and experience to enable and encourage individuals to access specialist advice and support.
- Work alongside others in the community; either with established groups or creating new groups.
- Develop Mutual Aid and Peer Support links.
- Complete training to develop their skills and abilities to develop and gain knowledge of the Recovery Motivator role.
- Share knowledge with the wider team and the Community.
About you
- Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol misuse
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills
- Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental towards Service Users
- Confident in working alone as well as part of a team
- Can remain calm under pressure
- Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available
