Quantity Surveyor

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a highly motivated Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join the team at the Laing O'Rourke Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction, Europe's largest and most advanced pre-assembly manufacturing facility. Key responsibilities include:

• Sole responsibility for specific areas within a project.

• Managing all commercial duties, including measurement, valuation, and agreement of work sections.

• Assisting in the preparation of interim applications for payment and internal valuations.

• Managing and reporting monthly costs.

• Drafting, managing, and settling subcontracts with assistance.

• Preparing, agreeing, maintaining, and filing records.

• Advising project management on contractual implications of intended actions.

• Assisting in preparation of claims and change control processes.

• Preparing the final account and pricing.

• Preparing monthly contract review reports and weekly Business Performance Review (BPR) information.

• Providing full communication to the manager about any issues or risks that might affect the business or project.

• Managing trainee and/or assistant commercial personnel.

The candidate must have:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.

• Experience with JCT/Mixed contracts and coins for both sub-contract and cost management.

• A good understanding of CRF and CiM processes.

• A passion for learning and a desire to grow within the company.
