A need has arisen for a results focused Quality & Test Lead to support our technology capability across the group. This is a new role and as such offers significant scope for the successful applicant to influence the shape of the function.
Working closely with our Development, IT and Business Change teams, your role will be to drive standards and quality improvement across all areas of development, including .Net, M365, Data Engineering & Analysis. This will provide the opportunity to work on a diverse range of initiatives and technologies in a fast paced and exciting environment.
Key Responsibilities as our Quality and Test Lead will include:
- Design and implement the approach to QA and Performance testing across development activities.
- Oversee the assurance activities of others, providing advice and guidance on all aspects of test planning and execution.
- Adopt appropriate testing methods, automated tools, and techniques to solve problems.
- Oversee and execute the delivery of test cases / acceptance criteria to align with requirements and cover all aspects of intended functionality.
- Select and utilise tools and methodologies to ensure software tests identify defects and comply with the relevant requirements.
- Manage team activity in conjunction with wider release plans.
- Co-ordinate post release verification following a Production deployment.
- Design, implement and maintain triage and register for tracking system issues.
- Communicate at all levels, handle multiple projects and work on business-critical solutions.
- Day to day line management responsibility for QA Engineer(s).
- Enhance testing capabilities, standards, best practices, policies, and procedures across the group in conjunction with IT Director, Head of Data & BI and Lead Developers.
- Coordinate with business analysts and development teams to assess requirements and engage in project review and status meetings.
- Design, track and disseminate metrics to monitor software quality.
- Oversee the responsibility for validating data sources, transformation logic and final data in target tables (Snowflake databases).
What we are looking for in our ideal Quality and Test Lead:
- Educated to bachelor’s degree level or equivalent in computer science related subject.
- Strong experience in the area of software testing
- Previous supervisory experience is required
- Financial Services experience (desirable)
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or Robot Framework
- Exposure to power platform, Test Studio or Test Engine a Benefit
- Broad knowledge of software development life cycle, cloud technologies, functional and non-functional test methodologies
- Knowledge of API testing (Postman) and cross browser and device testing (Browserstack)
- Knowledge of accessibility testing
- Able to make fact-based decisions and articulate them to the test teams/Stakeholders through strong communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus
