Quality Engineer

 

Description:

We’re supporting our client, a medical and technical injection moulding specialists based in Tonbridge, who are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Quality Engineer will have experience of quality related background – manufacturing (cleanroom manufacturing & injection moulding preferred).

Responsibilities for Quality Engineer:

 

  • The Quality Engineer has responsibility for maintaining the company’s quality systems and ensuring that any corrective actions are implemented without delay.
  • The Quality Engineer will support technical, manufacturing and purchasing with all of their quality requirements.
  • The Quality Engineer will set up and support all production data, quality documentation, calibration and drawing control, for manufactured and purchased parts.
  • Support technical and manufacturing with all quality activities.
  • Ensure that internal audit plans are maintained and corrective actions implemented when required.
  • Will be involved in the development of mutually beneficial relationships with our principal customers.
  • Must ensure he/she achieves all mutually agreed targets.
  • Audit production and packaging processes to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Provide assistance to the Quality Manager for projects related to research and development, production technology, and quality control.
  • Assist with quality training of production personnel.
  • Record and compile audit and test results, and prepare graphs, charts, and reports.
  • Maintain SOPs for all active products, and work collaboratively with members of the production department to verify SOPs.
  • Load and maintain the production data bases with manufacturing related data, under the supervision of the Quality Manager.
  • Will be expected to participate in any company or group objectives or initiatives.
  • Facilitate in improvement and corrective action meetings
  • Ensure customer complaints are dealt with in line with company procedures.
  • Support the Quality Manager with new project introduction.
  • Perform validation activities in accordance with PPAP and IQ-OQ-PQ.
  • Perform capability studies
  • Programme and operate the CMM, Vision Inspection Equipment and Force Test Equipment.
  • The Quality Engineer is expected to maintain a professional working relationship with all his/her colleagues, whilst promoting a commitment to Total Quality and Continuous Improvement.
  • Must ensure that they act in a responsible manner to ensure their own Health and Safety and the Health and Safety of all other employees or any other persons on site at all times.
  • Must ensure that any unsafe working conditions and practices are reported to their Departmental Manager.
  • Must ensure that the work place is kept clean and tidy at all times.

About You:

  • Must be from a quality related background – manufacturing (cleanroom manufacturing & injection moulding preferred).
  • Must have knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 (ISO13485:2015 preferred).
  • Must have knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, SPC and 8D (IQ,OQ,PQ preferred)
  • Good knowledge and use of computer software, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, ERP Systems and Minitab.
  • Full valid driving licence as will be required to travel within the UK.
  • Prepared to work a rotating shift pattern during busy periods.
