Are you an experienced public sector commissioner looking to make a real impact in crime prevention and victim support services? The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) of Cambridgeshire Constabulary is seeking a dynamic Director of Commissioning to oversee a Β£6.5 million commissioning budget dedicated to reducing crime and providing trauma-informed support for victims and witnesses.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that involves significant partnership collaboration, governance oversight, and policy developmentβparticularly in the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Prevention approach.
π Commissioning & Governance:
βοΈ Oversee and manage the Β£6.5m commissioning budget to deliver effective crime prevention and victim support services.
βοΈ Ensure governance frameworks are in place for service implementation.
βοΈ Develop strategic policies and frameworks aligned with public safety objectives.
π Victim & Witness Support Services:
βοΈ Lead the largest support service portfolio within the OPCC.
βοΈ Ensure the provision of trauma-informed victim and witness support services.
βοΈ Contribute to the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Prevention approach.
π Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
βοΈ Work closely with local, regional, and national partners.
βοΈ Draft and present reports in key meetings and monitoring sessions.
βοΈ Conduct site visits to ensure service effectiveness.
π Leadership & Team Management:
βοΈ Lead a team of commissioning professionals.
βοΈ Drive collaborative initiatives with government agencies, law enforcement, and non-profits.

Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in public sector commissioning with direct leadership responsibility.
β
Strong knowledge of VAWG services, either from a commissioning, service delivery, or partnership perspective.
β
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including drafting reports and presentations.
β
Experience in governance frameworks and outcome measurement for funded programs.
β
Ability to work strategically and operationally within a complex public sector environment.
