The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) of Cambridgeshire Constabulary is seeking a dynamic Director of Commissioning to oversee a Β£6.5 million commissioning budget dedicated to reducing crime and providing trauma-informed support for victims and witnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

πŸ“Œ Commissioning & Governance:
βœ”οΈ Oversee and manage the Β£6.5m commissioning budget to deliver effective crime prevention and victim support services.
βœ”οΈ Ensure governance frameworks are in place for service implementation.
βœ”οΈ Develop strategic policies and frameworks aligned with public safety objectives.

πŸ“Œ Victim & Witness Support Services:
βœ”οΈ Lead the largest support service portfolio within the OPCC.
βœ”οΈ Ensure the provision of trauma-informed victim and witness support services.
βœ”οΈ Contribute to the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Prevention approach.

πŸ“Œ Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
βœ”οΈ Work closely with local, regional, and national partners.
βœ”οΈ Draft and present reports in key meetings and monitoring sessions.
βœ”οΈ Conduct site visits to ensure service effectiveness.

βœ”οΈ Lead a team of commissioning professionals.
βœ”οΈ Drive collaborative initiatives with government agencies, law enforcement, and non-profits.


What We’re Looking For:

βœ… Minimum 3 years’ experience in public sector commissioning with direct leadership responsibility.
βœ… Strong knowledge of VAWG services, either from a commissioning, service delivery, or partnership perspective.
βœ… Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including drafting reports and presentations.
βœ… Experience in governance frameworks and outcome measurement for funded programs.
βœ… Ability to work strategically and operationally within a complex public sector environment.
