The Retail Credit Risk Team is hiring a Property Risk Surveyor to assess and manage property risks related to secured lending for UK mortgages. The role is crucial in understanding, analyzing, and implementing property risk policies in line with HSBC's risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of referral for property-related cases that fall outside policy, directly impacting customer outcomes.
- Provide ongoing support for property-related queries across the mortgage lifecycle.
- Conduct independent audits of valuations by panel valuers, ensuring high standards and continuous improvements.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, advising on property risk matters and contributing to product development.
- Influence property risk management within HSBC by identifying risks and opportunities.
- Develop and implement property risk policies in alignment with the bank’s overall risk strategy.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- RICS qualified surveyor with experience in the residential property sector.
- Strong understanding of residential property valuations and associated risks.
- Ability to advise on property risk matters, communicating effectively with different teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a clear understanding of valuation principles.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to property risk.
