Project Manager

 

Description:

The purpose of the role is to develop and ensure the delivery of the capital projects program for the Automotive CHEP Europe through the effective management of projects, suppliers, and key stakeholders. The role may also be required to support CHEP in the delivery of projects and installations in other areas of the business mainly in Pallecon if necessary.

 

Major/Key Accountabilities

 

  • Ensure all capital equipment projects and associated processes for Automotive projects within Europe are carried out to the highest standards of Zero Harm, Zero Defect and in compliance with all local and regional safety and environmental procedures and legislation.
  • Development, Planning and Implementation of the Automotive region capital equipment investment plan and define proper road maps and game plans for Europe.
  • Ensure timely submission and approval of all relevant Process Engineering capex request for the region. Manage/define all activities within projects like equipment layout and scope development, vendor selection and requests for quote, purchase order generation, contractor selection, on-site supervision during the installation and start-up of equipment, and proper tagging and accounting of new equipment.
  • Locate and qualify new equipment and engineering service providers for Europe. Collaborate with the CHEP Sourcing team to drive robust supplier qualifications, performance standards and warranty strategies.

 

Qualifications

 

Essential

  • Bachelors in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

 

Desirable

  • Project Management accreditation.
  • Certified Machinery Safety Expert.
  • Master degree (Automation or Robotics).

 

Experience

  • Engineering management (development, implementation, and management of projects).
  • Project management for industrial projects implementation in plants
  • Supervisory or Line Management experience.
  • Development management of automation.

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Supervisory and Management Skills.
  • Knowledge of the Budgeting (control) and CAPEX process.
  • CQV Process.
  • Project Management.
  • AutoCAD for layout and machinery design.
  • Knowledge of Machine Vision and robotic technologies.
