Project Engineer

Description:

You will have a strong understanding of how the railway works as a whole and be able to assess the impact of your work and its interfaces with other teams. This includes an understanding of conventional rail or high-speed rail, or both.

You will be responsible for the provision of rail specific technical engineering knowledge relating to a specific aspect of the railway. Specialist areas include rail specific civil engineering, rail track, rail signalling and control, rail systems & integration, rail traction and rolling stock, rail telecommunications, network and digital and rail electrical, mechanical and building services.

Role Requirements

• 8+ years’ experience (to Railway Construction/CRE/Project Engineer) in the construction industry working for railway clients, with knowledge of rail systems, rail delivery & railway track construction interface experience being essential.
• Member of, or working towards, appropriate professional body or institution (PWI, ICE, IMechE, CIHT etc.) and/or project management experience (APM or equivalent).
• Experience working with multidisciplinary designers who have undertaken design implementation including all facets of track design, and the interfaces to other key railway systems disciplines and the operational railway.
