What you'll be doing
- Champion a learning culture with a strong focus on achieving the potential of employees through a wide range of development interventions including core management skills, coaching, mentoring and e-learning.
- Manage the training needs analysis, design, facilitation, and evaluation of a high-quality core development offer. which includes self-service development resources on the Balfour Beatty Academy
- Act as a learning and development partner to evaluate and analyse the business needs and design and manage a creative blended learning & development portfolio which will enable the business to achieve its strategic goals and reinforce organisational values.
- Re/Design, create and deliver learning solutions from conception to implementation using the 70;20;10 principle
- Work with Job Families to design and deliver learning needs within Job Family
- Work with Professional Steering Groups to design and deliver professional development infrastructure to deliver support for professional accreditation
- Identify learning solutions to deliver industry-specific competence
- Work with Job Families to design and implement inclusive Career Paths
- Contribute to the delivery of the Military Talent Pathway
- Monitor Professional Development budget
- Work with HR Shared Services to ensure delivery of Professional Training Plan
- Facilitate the delivery of professional development events alongside Professional Steering Groups
- Support the wider, full team agenda to include Early Careers; Professional Development; People and Culture; Leadership & Talent.
- Liaise with external suppliers and learning bodies as required to support the effective delivery of training programmes and events
Who we're looking for
An experienced Learning and Development professional with skills and experience in technical and occupational learning and development, preferably in an engineering or construction sector or an engineering or construction professional looking to move into learning and development.
Particular skills in:
- Stakeholder Management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels within the business
- Empathetic, helpful, flexible and supportive, with a strong customer-service ethos
- Ability to inspire, motivate and influence others
- Competent to Intermediate level in Microsoft suite particularly in relation to Excel and Powerpoint, Sharepoint and confident in the use of IT systems
- Able to interpret data and use to gain insights for continuous improvement
- Able to manage time efficiently, plan and prioritise work activities
- Able to work effectively within a team and on own
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and to plan and organise own work
- Knowledge of professional membership
- Construction, engineering or related industry knowledge
- Experience or knowledge of external qualifications
- Experience or knowledge of Apprenticeships
- Assoc CIPD or equivalent
