Product Manager

Description:

Are you passionate about driving innovation through technical excellence? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to support business critical technical initiatives. You'll play a crucial role in leading and delivering high-impact features, harnessing your deep understanding of technology.

As a Product Manager specializing in technical projects, you'll serve as the conduit between our engineering team and stakeholders, driving the vision, strategy, and execution of our initiatives. Your expertise will guide the development process, ensuring alignment between technical feasibility, and business objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Become the face of the product liaising with stakeholders and technical users.
  • Maintain and update product documentation.
  • Work closely with the Technical Director to future scoping activities, gathering requirements and supporting the exploration of proof of concepts and helping assess their validity, value and strategic alignment within NCC Group
  • Work in close and direct collaboration with the stakeholders, to evolve the Product Backlog based on the Product Roadmap.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality, easily understood User Stories and Product Requirements, which consider customer needs, application context and engineering principles.
  • Confidently and clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders and various levels, articulating product & team progress, focus and direction of travel.
  • Install rigorous and persistent prioritisation and re-prioritisation methods across your product backlog, predicting and responding to scenarios that arise during product development.
  • Accurately assess the realistic business and customer value behind new and existing ideas that come up during the product development.
  • Participate and work within an agile team, promoting collaboration and adaptability in our fast paced environment.

Your role will be working primarily with the teams running two line of business applications:

  • Limb, a tool that wraps security consulting projects at NCC Group, from scoping through delivery, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Firebase, an internal security remote testing appliance allowing our security consultants to conduct regular internal security testing for our clients.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Been there, done that: We require prior experience in either Product Owner or Business Analyst roles, it doesn’t need to be decades, but it is essential that you bring to the table evidence of writing requirements/acceptance criteria, prioritising complex backlogs, and working with broad internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assess & Decide: We don’t need you to be an engineering expert, or to have worked in this specific industry before, but we do need you to possess the ability to quickly assess the technical feasibility, relative cost and risks around solution options, and make good, informed decisions you can stand behind and evidence with data.
  • Process Pro & Eye for Detail: You should hold excellent process analysis and mapping skills and want nothing more than to uncover all the detail involved with a requirement in order to distil into the pertinent information your team requires.
  • All about Agile: Demonstratable knowledge of Agile development processes is desired – but we also require you to be adaptable to change, particularly where there are varying levels of process adoption, we want you to embrace difference and fundamentally deliver.
  • Confident Communicator: Holding a strong ability to clearly communicate with and manage broad stakeholders across multiple departments and geographies is critical to the success of the role.
  • Formal Agile/Scrum Product Owner certification
  • A background in, or demonstrated awareness of, Cyber Security products
  • An awareness of developing or working with SaaS platforms
