Description:
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Product Engineer to join our clients team in Devon. As a Product Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and improvement of our products and services.
Ideally the Product Engineer will have the following attributes:
- 3 years of experience in a similar role or an engineering role in manufacturing
- Presentation skills
- Good knowledge and or training of Health and Safety risk assessments
- Understanding of Project management methods and tools
- Experience in Photonics would be beneficial but not essential
- Problem solving skills
- Customer focus
- Accountability skills
- Drive and Determination
The Product Engineer role will involve:
- See products through from the prototype stages all the way through to volume manufacturing
- Assist Product Engineering projects using tools such as Gantt, Project Status etc. Focusing on agreed KPI’s
- Support and challenge Manufacturing Engineering with regards to cost reduction of processes
- Meet deadlines, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Ensure that all projects assigned are fully auditable to the current site accreditations
- Understand the requirements of our current (ISO9001) and future (AS9100) quality management systems
- Delivery of key customer milestones/documentation packages.
- Schedule adherence to the NPI gates
- To assist with the implementation of quality improvements, including leading and maintaining PFMEA’s and introducing risk mitigation.
- Appropriate deployment of NPI processes, meeting all design milestone objectives.
