Procurement Manager

 

Description:

As their Head of Procurement, you’ll lead a team of 6 and be responsible for strategically aligning the purchasing function to the business objectives whilst leveraging opportunities to bring significant commercial advantage to the organisation. You’ll manage the supply base, negotiate competitive pricing, monitor KPIs and ensure adherence to contractual terms. This is a hands-on role and will involve growing and mentoring the purchasing team, as well as working in partnership with client stakeholders.

To succeed in the role of Head of Procurement, you’ll need a strong purchasing / procurement background – it is essential that much of your experience will have been gained within the food industry / market. Strong negotiation skills and being data driven are also essential. The role is both managing upwards and downwards so you’ll be as happy wearing a strategic hat as wearing your “doer” hat.
