Description:
Do you want to be part of a global subsea telecommunications organisation? We are recruiting for a PCB Design Engineer to join our London-based client.
As a PCB Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the Design and documentation of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Printed Board Assemblies (PBAs) used in Power Feeding Equipment (PFE).
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
- Electronics Engineering qualification
- PCB CAD: Zuken CR5000 (or CR8000) SD, BD and Components Manager (librarian).
- IPC CID / CID+ PCB certification preferred but not essential.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant R&D department in a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of general electrical/electronic and mechanical engineering principles.
- Good communication skills, team working with ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Familiarity with relevant IPC standards.
- In depth understanding of PCB fabrication and PBA manufacturing and processes, including stack-up limitations/best practices, PCB materials, panelization etc
- Zuken Lightning power analysis (highly desirable)
- Experience designing boards for high voltage and/or high current applications (highly desirable)
JOB DESCRIPTION
- All aspects related to specification, design and documentation of PCBs and PBAs:
- Create and maintain a parts library: CR5000/CR8000 database.
- Create component shapes, symbols etc as requested by hardware design engineers.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout, liaising with hardware design engineers.
- DFx analysis.
- Create layout Design Rules for automatic checking.
- Generate and maintain all PCB and PBA manufacturing data, BoMs and drawings.
- Respond to PCB fab DFM analysis / manufacturing queries.
- Export of 3D models to MCAD (Creo).
