Life Cycle UK is about to close a new contract with an exciting new client, providing Engineering, Procurement and Project Management support from Aberdeen to a substantial international project with long term potential. This scope relates to both our client's offshore and onshore facilities. We are looking for a Principal / Lead Structural Engineer to join our team based in our Aberdeen (AIBP) office
What will you be doing?
- Member of a multi-discipline team of engineers responsible for delivering a major modification project
- To carry out professional engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and completion activities in a competent and efficient manner whilst ensuring that the technical and safety integrity of engineering being performed is always maintained.
- Ensure project deliverables are generated using Aker Solutions systems and tools.
- Review, check the work of others and be responsible for their performance within their discipline / function.
- Compilation of weekly reports on progress via project tools where applicable.
- Liaise with client project and facilities engineering in the execution of the modifications project scopes of work delivering work on Schedule and within Budget and in accordance with company procedures.
- Accountable for the effective administration and implementation of Management of Change.
- Preparation of cost and time/man-hour estimates via Aker Solutions Systems where applicable.
- Input into the planning, co-ordination and execution of the groups work activities.
- Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
- Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel.
- Prepare Engineering concepts and develop into detail design
- Prepare CTR estimates for structural scopes
We Think You Should Have
- Sound working knowledge of relevnt structural design codes
- Experience / qualification in Structural Engineering
- Solution oriented with good communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of relevant indusrty regulations and standards
- Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude
- The ability to train and mentor discipline engineers
- A commercial mindset, good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- The ability to see solutions together with meeting customer expectations and requirements
- The competency to be accurate, flexible and organized
