Principal Business Development Manager

Description:

The Onshore Wind Commercial & Investments team is responsible for building business cases to support investment decisions in onshore wind projects, feeding into key commercial activities on projects at all stages of a project’s lifecycle, from early-stage development to operations. This role is a senior position that will focus on managing Business Development Managers/Developers and project teams at any stage of a project’s lifecycle but with specialisms largely around project and portfolio optimisation.

The Onshore Wind business continues to grow with exciting opportunities through investment in our existing greenfield development portfolio, development of our existing assets and the acquisition of new projects. There are currently two Principal Managers in the team, which is being expanded to support overall growth ambitions and a broadened business remit. Each Principal Manager will have distinct responsibilities, separated initially into the following areas:

• Strategic Partnerships – including mergers & acquisition development; joint ventures lead; community and stakeholder investment
• Commercial Delivery – including Route to Market Strategy delivery; key commercial stakeholder partnerships during construction
• Portfolio Optimisation – including development of new income opportunities for early stage and existing operational assets, forecasting and assumptions management

In this key role you will specialise in portfolio optimisation and value creation and along with the other Principal Managers will also be responsible and accountable for a range of onshore wind projects and associated strategic workstreams, with the aim of achieving and enabling final investment decisions.
