Description:
This exciting opportunity is for a Practitioner Psychologist to join Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, working alongside multidisciplinary teams in Stroke and Neurology services. You will play a pivotal role in delivering psychological support to patients experiencing health difficulties, including highly specialized cases. This position is ideal for a newly qualified psychologist or one looking to gain experience in physical health psychology, with training and flexible working options available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently as a Clinical Psychologist, managing a caseload of patients with a wide range of psychological issues related to physical health.
- Undertake screening, assessment, formulation, treatment, and management of complex psychological problems.
- Provide specialized psychological therapy using various models for individual patients, families, and groups.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care, providing consultations and training where necessary.
- Promote psychologically informed practices within the team and contribute to service development.
- Conduct risk assessments and offer advice on managing vulnerabilities and self-harm.
- Provide leadership and supervision to other staff practicing psychological approaches.
About You:
- Hold a postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist with the BPS and as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical psychology, with a strong background in working with individuals with physical health conditions.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and to manage complex psychological cases.
