MCA is a specialist firm providing financial and management accounting services to the hospitality industry.
Working from our head office, in Canary Wharf, London, the ideal candidate for this role (Financial Controller of a Portfolio) will have come from hospitality finance background and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely management accounts including cashflow management and day to day associated tasks for a portfolio of clients. The candidate will also be the point of contact for client operations teams, banks, auditors, and HMRC.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the integrity of the financial records and for ensuring that appropriate control procedures exist to protect the client company’s assets and records
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and assist external advisors with the preparation of information for the annual Statutory Accounts ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements within the reporting deadlines required by clients.
- Perform transaction processing and ensure that deadlines and performance targets are achieved.
- Development and implementation of existing and new financial systems and process that improve working efficiency and financial control.
- Responsible for ensuring that all Balance Sheet Accounts are reconciled regularly and to prepare appropriate Balance Sheet reporting for the Financial Director.
- Provide advice and assistance on financial issues, regulatory documents, propriety and accountability across the organisation.
- Management of cashflow
- Ensure government compliance in all tasks
Qualifications
- At least part qualified Accountant or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years experience in hospitality finance, ideally restaurants
- Proficiency with current financial software, such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks
- Understanding of UK GAAP
- Excellent communication and presentational skills required
