Planning Manager

 

Description:

We are looking for a smart and energetic Planning Manager to join our agency client & planning team. This is a client facing role where you’ll be working across multiple media disciplines on some of the agency's largest clients.

 

We require someone who is confident in front of clients, has a proven media planning background with a strong knowledge in digital, as well as all offline media, and who can manage multi-stake holder clients.

With the support of the Planning Director, you will manage the accounts on a day-to-day basis.

The client & planning team is the central point of contact for all clients, so building a strong working relationship with them is key to the success of this role. You will be expected to deliver strong cross-channel planning alongside excellent client service through brilliant basics, whilst also managing the output of the investment teams, making sure we are on strategy for all media responses to briefs and reporting.

Experience in financial services is desirable but not essential. 2 years min experience.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

● Lead day-to-day contact with mid-level clients

● Work closely with the strategy team to set the direction of travel. Develop the media plan and brief for channel experts

● Responsible for delivering client KPI’s, results and targets (with the PD)

● Delivering the highest level of account management (meeting deadlines, accuracy, project management)

● Autonomy over clients with smaller spending clients as required (with the PD having final responsibility)

● Developing cross-media plans as per approved strategy and ensure post campaign analysis is in place.

● Present recommended implementation plans to clients (alongside strategists)

● Researching new media ideas and opportunities

● Learn and improve from campaigns on an ongoing basis and advise re. optimisations across all media

● Detailed and up to date knowledge of the client’s business, objectives, key personnel, structure, changes, market etc.

● Strong understanding of the client business and category

● Supporting the PD in cross selling additional products and services

● Organising weekly (or agreed regular) reporting for all campaigns

● Overseeing the management of the team support PE/SPE’s

● Invoice queries and resolving accounts queries

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

 

● Experience in a client facing account role

● Superb working knowledge of Industry sector research tools and systems e.g. Mintel Reports, Nielsen AdIntel (previously Addynamix), DDS etc.

● Strong presentation skills

● Numerate (budgeting, forecasting etc…) and analytical capabilities

● Multi-media disciplined – can talk competently about all media

● A good level of digital knowledge, with the ability to talk about digital partners, plans, optimisations and audiences fluently

● Exceptional client handling and relationship building skills

● Commercial acumen

● Ability to go the extra mile – to contribute to the development of the agency thinking broader than just the clients business e.g. innovations challenge
