Description:

The People Partnering & Reward team within Human Resources are seeking a Pension & Benefits Administrator to support the provision of an efficient, customer-focussed pensions and benefits service to staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone keen to start their career in Human Resources or gain experience in the reward and benefits areas of HR.

 

What you would be doing

 

You will be the first point of contact for all staff and potential new hires for pensions and benefits. You will work closely with the Senior Pensions Officer and Reward & Benefits Manager and will also provide administrative support to the Progression & Job Evaluation Team.

Key duties will include triaging queries in mailboxes and escalating any complex enquiries. Advising staff on the completion of pension forms and making benefit selections. Ensuring all pension and benefits webpages are written in clear and simple language and are kept up-to-date.

You’ll also carry out general office duties such as arranging meetings and booking meeting rooms and editing and uploading documents to the HR website via a CMS (content management system). Duties will also encompass basic financial administration, and administrative support. You’ll also help to run our family friendly workshops and you may also be taking notes at various meetings and ensuring all those attending have the agenda and papers.

 

What we are looking for

 

We are seeking candidates who have:

  • Experience of a busy administrative environment, ideally with an understanding of the UK Higher Education sector.
  • Experience of prioritising their own workload
  • Used computer diary systems and undertaken general office financial duties (e.g. raising purchase orders and arranging payment of invoices).
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining confidentiality
  • Good administrative skills, written and verbal communication skills, and numeracy skills
  • Good organisational skills with ability to plan and prioritise own workload, the ability to work methodically, and the ability to use own initiative on when to refer matters to others
  • The ability to be courteous with people in person and on the telephone
  • The ability to take minutes and notes
