Operational Support Manager

 

Description:

We’re pleased to announce an exciting opening for an Operational Support Manager to join our growing team in Llanwern. Your role will be to lead, manage and coordinate the deployment of strategies to support effective operational activities, continual improvement processes and the delivery of business requirements in the works area.

 

 

Working closely with the Works area, you will provide line support to manage and coordinate key business activities to deliver key business imperatives. As the Operational Support Manager, you will lead the deployment of the Competence Management System within the works area, play a leading role in the effective delivery of strategy deployment and be a key contact in organisational reviews.

 

 

What you will need

 

The Operational Support Manager will hold a strong Manufacturing background. Preferably, you’ll also be a member of the CIPD, IOSH or IEMA as well. You’ll have a great track record in management which you’ll need as you oversee a team of 4 direct reports at different career levels.

 

It is expected that you will also hold the following;

  • A good broad knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations
  • An in depth knowledge and understanding of the business processes, Health & Safety, Environment, Fire and People processes
  • A good knowledge of business strategy development, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement techniques and associated deployment processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including team and group communications, presentational skills and event management
  • Demonstrable ability in successful problem solving techniques
  • A proven ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders, including support functions and external agencies
