Operational Resilience Engagement And Incident Response Lead

We are pleased to be offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and strategically minded Lead Associate to join the Technology, Resilience and Cyber department (TRC) and lead our engagement with a wide range of domestic and international partners on one of the FCA’s strategic commitments, minimising the impact of operational disruptions. TRC works closely with UK and international authorities to ensure firms are resilient to disruption. We work with the aim of protecting consumers and markets and building confidence in the effectiveness of technology that underpins financial services. We cooperate closely with the Bank of England, PRA, HM Treasury and a range of other domestic and international authorities.

What You Will Be Doing
 

• Leading the coordination of the TRC department’s stakeholder engagement for both international and domestic work, including developing and owning the department’s engagement strategy
• Coordinating with stakeholders, such as FCA International teams, on policy, engagements with other regulators and standard-setting bodies, and papers where operational resilience expertise is required
• Providing upward reporting and updates on domestic and international issues in operational resilience to TRC Leadership, confidently pulling insights together from our participation in a variety of forums to deliver against our strategy
• Leading TRC engagement on G7 Cyber Experts Group, including briefing seniors, and coordinating our approach with the UK authorities (HMT and BoE/PRA)
• Leading and facilitating the governance process for TRC’s engagement with HM Treasury, from working level to senior level meetings. This includes the Sector Security Resilience Plan process for ensuring the FCA is fulfilling its obligations in operational resilience in supporting the soundness of the financial sector
• Providing subject matter expertise and acting as a point of reference for colleagues both inside and outside the team on international and domestic engagement items
• Leading the response to operational incidents within regulated firms, alongside the wider Incident Response Team
