An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT), based at Asket Croft. We are looking for a dynamic Occupational Therapist keen to work with adults who have a Learning Disability (LD), who require specialist health support due to complex physical, sensory, communication and behavioural impairments.

The CLDT provides specialist, integrated, multi-professional health services for clients aged 18 plus with a Learning Disability. You will manage a caseload of clients with complex health needs and will be responsible for planning and providing occupational therapy provision.

You will have the opportunity to aid the development of the occupational therapy service, and the provision of specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation for adults with a Learning Disability. The successful candidate will develop and implement therapy care plans; when necessary advising therapy assistants to implement a range of specialist therapeutic interventions, under their direct supervision.

You will be supported in your personal and professional development via clinical supervision, training and other Continuing Professional Development opportunities such as the bi-monthly Occupational Therapy Professional Development meetings which includes OTs from across Learning Disability Services.

Main duties of the job

The Trust has an established Preceptorship Programme for new graduates offering specific support and develop throughout your first year. The service runs Monday to Friday 9 to 5, team members have access to full remote technology (phones and laptops) to support agile and hybrid working.

The successful candidate will be based within the East North East (ENE) CLDT based at Asket Croft. You will be an integral part of this Multi- Disciplinary Team (MDT) and you will receive clinical and managerial supervision from the B6 Occupational Therapist in the ENE CLDT.

The Learning Disability service has clear clinical governance pathways and supports professional and service development. Both in-house and accredited training opportunities are available in areas such as, Sensory Integration and Positive Behavioural Support.

You will be part of the Allied Health Professional (AHP) community across Learning Disability services and will be invited to regular AHP forums. You will also attend Occupational Therapy Development Meetings with Occupational Therapists who work across the Community Learning Disability Teams, Respite Services and Intensive Support Te
