Occupational Health Technician

Description:

Our OHTs have excellent people skills, putting clients at ease and patiently guiding them through health surveillance tests to help assess their health status.

You'll spend most of your time at our clinic in East London (E16) carrying out driver medicals in partnership with our doctors, and health surveillance medicals. From time to time you might also visit our clients' sites in and around London and the southeast to carry out health screening. Some rare overnight stays may be needed where it makes sense to do so.

As well as driver medicals and health surveillance, from time to time you'll also have the opportunity to get involved with health promotion and pro-active wellbeing campaigns to really make a difference to our clients' workforces.

Some of our OHTs also choose to train as phlebotomists in order to carry out certain types of biological monitoring.

Our clients come in all different shapes and sizes from small carpentry firms to large transport organisations, and we encourage site tours to help our team understand each client's work environment.

As part of our clinical team, you'll have a strong network of experienced OHTs, OHNs, OH Advisors, and OH Physicians to support you. Our clinical team is overseen by Dr Frixos Kospacheilis and Rachel Day who will support you clinically and professionally to develop your skills and feel part of the AHM team.

You'll be able to think on your feet, have a love of learning and self-development, and be able to build rapport with people from all walks of life. Our work is all done on online systems, so you'll have some computer skills or at least be unafraid and willing to learn.
