Non-executive Director

Description:

We are looking for a new Non-Executive Director (NED) to join our Unitary Board and Chair our Finance and Performance Committee. You will be passionate about the work we deliver and a champion for the best interests of our service users and carers. Sharing our values, you will enjoy building partnerships across the complex systems we work within, whilst listening to all our stakeholders to make sure we fully understand, and are able to respond to, the challenges and opportunities ahead.

We are particularly seeking an individual with significant Board level leadership experience drawn from the public sector, such as the NHS, central or local government. You may have been a Chief Executive or an Executive leader of complex services and will have a good understanding of public finance and are likely to have finance and/or accounting qualifications enabling you to fulfil the role of Chair of the Finance and Performance Committee. You are very likely to have already been a NED and live in or have connections with the communities which we serve.

Whilst NHS experience is not essential, the appointed individual will bring relevant experience which they can translate effectively to our environment; and be able to demonstrate their capacity to absorb and understand health and social care policy, stakeholders, and governance requirements including an appreciation of the risks we manage in our services. You will demonstrate sound judgement and political acumen that will bring focus and a fresh perspective to our aims as a system partner within a significant public service organisation.
