Description:
A globally recognized food company known for its outstanding culture and strong brand portfolio is seeking a National Account Manager (NAM) to join their Wholesale & Cash and Carry division on a 6–12 month fixed-term contract. This hybrid role, based in Manchester, is a great opportunity for a driven and commercially savvy professional with immediate availability.
The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of Wholesale and Cash & Carry account management, exceptional commercial insight, and the ability to foster strategic relationships across both local and national levels. You'll work across internal departments and directly with external clients to optimize distribution, stock management, and sales performance.
Key Responsibilities:
P&L Management: Deliver customer-level P&L results and meet distribution and category share goals for branded products within the Wholesale & Cash & Carry channels.
Sales Reporting: Provide consistent weekly and periodic sales performance reports, highlighting financial metrics and their key drivers.
Risk and Opportunity Analysis: Spot commercial risks and growth opportunities, collaborate with Category teams to present impactful, data-backed proposals.
Annual Planning: Support the Senior NAM in crafting and executing business growth strategies and brand activations.
Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional internal teams and external customers, including local depot managers.
Local Engagement: Ensure fair share of space and visibility at depot level through regular engagement and field visits.
Channel Advocacy: Represent the Wholesale & Cash & Carry channel internally, ensuring insights are shared across the wider sales team.
Travel: Expect regular national travel to customer sites and depots for relationship building and performance optimization.

Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience managing customer P&Ls and driving performance in Wholesale & Cash & Carry sales.
Track record of delivering impactful brand activation at depot level.
Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
A resilient, adaptable, and entrepreneurial mindset.
Strong time management skills to focus on high-impact tasks.
