Key Responsibilities
- Plan and Deliver Lessons: Create and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of secondary students, ensuring all learning styles are addressed.
- Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess students' work, provide constructive feedback, and monitor their academic progress to help them achieve their goals.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love of learning.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the maths curriculum, ensuring it meets educational standards and the needs of all students.
- Parental Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns, fostering a supportive home-school partnership.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices and continuously improve teaching skills.
- School Activities: Participate in school-wide activities, including extracurricular programs, school events, and staff meetings.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching maths at the secondary level is highly desirable.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of the secondary school maths curriculum and effective teaching methods.
- Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
