The WBDUK Marketing department constantly strives to create and maintain a best-in-class marketing function with an emphasis on lifetime value of WBD content. Within that department the Film Catalogue Marketing team curates and develops commercially focused plans for all WBD film content. We are here to create innovative marketing campaigns that ensure our IP stays visible, relevant, and consumed by digital and physical consumers.

 

Overview of the Marketing Manager role:

To manage the marketing of our extensive film catalogue in the UK within the transactional window across both Digital & Physical, maximising the lifecycle of our latest & greatest films in addition to curating engaging and relevant rolling annual promotions for our customers. This is a commercial marketing role where the primary objective is to deliver creative and commercial plans across a diverse portfolio of film titles including our key franchises such as DC, The Wizarding World and Middle Earth.

 

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Devise and implement marketing plans covering, paid media, publicity, retail set up, organic social media and promotional partnerships.
  • Forecasting and P&L management of promotions.
  • Coordinate closely with the sales teams to influence and optimise representation of Film Catalogue titles across our retailers.
  • Work as part of a broader Film Marketing team to drive effective lifecycle management of Film content from when it reaches its transactional catalogue window.
  • Create and implement promotional plans across catalogue franchises to actively drive catalogue revenue.
  • Nurture effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders in London and LA and be a ‘brand champion’ for the Film Catalogue ensuring effective communication and collaboration across divisions including Consumer Products, PR, Games, Theatrical & Home Ent Sales, Brand Partnerships and TV distribution.
  • Line management of intern, responsible for their career growth and development.
  • Effective management of agencies across paid media, publicity and social with a view to finding efficiencies.
  • Identify and champion new growth opportunities across the film lifecycle.
  • Manage the creation & review of all relevant marketing materials.
  • Build Marketing plans to include price strategy, creative concepts, media and PR support, driving sell through and awareness of Trade-wide and Customer specific promotions.
  • Create and deliver passionate and commercially smart presentations both internally and externally.
  • Continuously evaluate consumer, media, retailer and competitor developments in the marketplace and adapt plans to take advantage of the changing landscape.

 

Qualifications & Experience…

  • A passion for film and good judgement of what captures people’s attention and how to tell a story.
  • High level of knowledge of the ever-evolving UK home entertainment digital and physical industry to help position WB as a market leader.
  • Significant, relevant entertainment marketing experience – minimum 3 years. Other entertainment experience will be considered but film is strongly preferred.
  • Line management experience with the ability to grow and develop key talent.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills.
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management with the ability to influence people at various levels of the business.
  • A strategic head and an organised mind - the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates a high level of commercial and financial acumen with experience in managing a P&L.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Empathy, inclusivity, open-mindedness, creativity, attention to detail.
  • A curious approach and growth mindset.
  • Experience of managing agencies across creative, paid media, social, publicity and promotional partnerships
