Marketing Communications Specialist

Description:

Deep Tech Leaders builds boards and leadership teams for advanced science and engineering innovators committed to making the world cleaner, healthier and more intelligent.

Our clients - spin-outs from the world’s leading universities and research institutes, as well as start-ups backed by the world’s leading venture funds – build breakthrough technologies and solutions across the Industrial, Advanced Computing and Medical domains. Through the recruitment of board and C-level talent we help them navigate their Lab to Market journey, secure product-market-fit and deliver a scalable business that adds significant value to its stakeholders.

Headquartered in London, we operate across the UK and European markets and are fortunate to work with most of the leading Deep Tech investors across these regions. Our network of talent is global.

Our Need

Our consultants have served advanced science and engineering start-ups since 2005, making us one of the most experienced Deep Tech search firms in the UK and Europe. The insight developed from our experience is significant.

Despite our expertise, we have done a poor job of translating our insight into thought leadership and a larger profile. Part of the reason is we haven’t had to. We already work with most of the leading Deep Tech investors and many leading Deep Tech companies.

But we recognise that we are doing ourselves and our market a disservice by not sharing what we’ve learned with a wider audience. Such lessons have the potential to help more companies through their Lab to Market journey. And we remain ambitious to build new relationships and grow our business.

We therefore wish to put this right by appointing marketing and communications capability to support our business and the stakeholders we serve.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, independent, opinionated practitioner with hard-won insights; someone with scars – and wins. Domain relevance is less important than mastery of craft.

This is a remote role, so location is unimportant, although mastery of English is essential, as is the ability to work with UK time zones.

Of course, we need someone to lead and execute on all marketing & communication initiatives, including:

-         Working with DTL’s consultants to define and plan goals and strategies aimed at increasing profile, followers and business.

-         Selecting the most ideal channels for distribution based on the features of our target audience.

-         Managing all social accounts and DTL website, using relevant tools as appropriate.

-         Working with DTL’s consultants to build on and refine thought leadership content.

-         Parsing content into digestible morsels across most appropriate domains.

-         Organising reports and broadcasts featuring thought leadership content from DTL.

-         Arranging for editing of video content.

-         Building partnerships with participants within the advanced science and engineering ecosystem, creating co-marketing opportunities that build brand and lead to enhanced profile.

-         When appropriate, creating event opportunities for DTL.
