Gleeson Recruitment Group is working exclusively with a rapidly growing academic trust to find a Management Accountant who is ready to contribute to their financial planning and analysis functions. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who has experience with forecasting and is looking to make a meaningful impact in the education sector.

As a Management Accountant, you will be a key player in preparing financial forecasts, managing budgets, and providing insightful analysis to support decision-making. Reporting to the CFO, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with department heads and other stakeholders to align financial strategies with the trust’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed financial forecasts and budgets, considering factors such as enrolment trends and funding sources.
  • Monitor budget performance, conduct variance analysis, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with budget holders and department heads to align annual budgets with strategic objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis to guide decision-making on resource allocation, investments, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate financial records, complying with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
  • Contribute to process and system improvements to enhance financial efficiency.

Job Requirements:

  • ACCA/CIMA Finalist or Newly Qualified Accountant.
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant.
  • Strong understanding of financial forecasting, budgeting, and management accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate financial data.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with systems like Sage or QuickBooks preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary of up to £45,000.
