Maintenance Engineer

Description:

E.ON Energy is looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its City Energy Solutions (CES) team in East London. The role involves maintaining District Heating plant rooms, pumping stations, control systems, heat metering equipment, and boilers, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Maintenance & Operations – Perform corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance for district heating infrastructure.
✔ System Management – Assist Operations & Maintenance lead engineers in coordinating maintenance activities.
✔ Risk Management – Identify and address potential risks to reduce system downtime.
✔ Efficiency Optimization – Improve plant performance and ensure cost-effective operations.
✔ Compliance & Safety – Ensure adherence to health, safety, and industry regulations.
✔ Contractor Engagement – Supervise and assess the quality of work done by external contractors.

Requirements:

✔ Qualification: Minimum Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
✔ Experience: Hands-on experience in district heating systems, plant inspection, and maintenance.
✔ Technical Knowledge: Safe isolation and re-commissioning of plant/electrical systems.
✔ IT Proficiency: Familiarity with IT communication systems.
✔ Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to optimize plant operations and resolve issues effectively.
✔ Commercial Understanding: Knowledge of financial impact on plant operations.
✔ Driving License: Must hold a full UK driving license.

Preferred but Not Mandatory:

✔ Commercial Gas Safe Certificates (COCN1, CCN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, CODNCO1)
✔ Experience with commercial boilers, chillers, and heat pumps
✔ Domestic ACS or equivalent Gas Safe certification
