Library Service Area Manager

We're seeking two exceptional Area Managers, for our Colchester and Harlow areas, to spearhead transformational shifts within our library service. As an Area Manager, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionising the way we deliver library services, empower our teams, and create lasting impact.

What are the roles about?

• Lead Transformation:

You’ll inspire our library teams towards continuous improvement, collaborating to drive change and innovation. You’ll be an expert in setting high customer service standards, championing the customer's voice, and leading big opportunities that increase our income.

• Operational Excellence:

We’ll leverage your business acumen to achieve excellence across teams and facilities. You’ll be adept at drafting robust plans, making data-driven decisions, and tackling diverse challenges.

• Empower Teams:

Our teams are our strength, and you’ll manage and mentor a complex workforce, nurturing growth, and empowerment. Your hands-on leadership sets the standard for professionalism.

• Strategic Partner:

You’ll join forces with the Head of Service to transform library operations to adapt and cultivate a dynamic workforce of the future. You’ll have big actionable ideas that are data- informed to help us move towards 2030 and beyond.

Qualifications:

• You might have a degree in finance, marketing, or business development? You could have equivalent experience – tell us what this is.
• We’re looking for significant experience in leadership roles, transforming teams and driving change.
• You’ll have a track record of cultural change and exceptional people management skills.
• Most importantly, you’ll have outstanding analytical skills & be a thinker adept at using data for evidence-based solutions, with strong technology skills that show a good grasp of digital tools.
