Description:
The University of Birmingham is seeking a Researcher to contribute to the development of the LLM International Oil and Gas Law module by analyzing key legal issues, industry trends, and regulatory frameworks. This role involves legal research, literature review, and engagement with practitioners to ensure both academic depth and practical relevance.
✔ Conduct in-depth legal research to identify emerging topics in international oil and gas law.
✔ Review academic literature, case law, and regulatory frameworks in the field.
✔ Engage with law firms in Dubai to gather industry-relevant insights.
✔ Analyze the impact of legal developments, energy policies, and international agreements on the oil and gas sector.
✔ Structure research findings into module recommendations and teaching materials.
✔ Assist in developing case studies and seminar discussions based on research.
✔ Master’s/PhD specialization in International Oil and Gas Law.
✔ Strong legal research and analytical skills with literature review experience.
✔ Ability to engage with legal practitioners and gather practical insights.
✔ Excellent written and verbal communication skills for summarizing complex legal issues.
✔ Familiarity with UAE and GCC legal frameworks in oil and gas law is an advantage.
📅 Contract Duration: April–June 2025 (Flexible start date, 25.5 total hours)
💼 Hourly Rate: £16.69 per hour + holiday entitlement
