Legal Counsel

I am exclusively partner with a market-leading global investment firm that is considered a prominent player in the investment management industry, leveraging its expertise and international presence to deliver high-quality service to its clients.

My client seeks a highly talented fund and/or corporate 2-4PQE lawyer to join their private markets team. This is a unique opportunity where you can support a broad range of work, from fund structuring to negotiating commercial agreements and offering corporate support to the broader business.

They are looking to add a dynamic lawyer with a background in funds from a leading city firm or an in-house at a recognized asset management firm.

This role will report directly to the Head of the Legal and be offered a broad remit from the outset.

Role

• Managing all legal aspects of the fund and product structuring process
• Managing the workstream of new product launches and investment initiatives
• Acting as an important advisor to the investment desk on appropriate fund and management structure
• Setting up new GPs and fund vehicles
• Negotiate and review agreements with service providers and clients, including distribution agreements, investment management agreements, and marketing agreements
• Assisting with transactional activity, such as reviewing shareholder agreements and managing co-investment transactions between funds and accounts
• Offering broader corporate support relating to their essential products
• Acting as a point of contact with external counsel

Profile

• 2-4PQE lawyer (E&W trained, ideally)
• Proven experience gained PQE in private/alternative investment funds team at a Leading City firm or within an asset management firm
• Understanding of a range of private funds and investment structuring (including Luxembourg structures) across different private asset classes
• Experience with regulated fund structures such as LTAF, ELTIF, and other structures for private assets will be beneficial but not essential
