Lecturer In Architectural Practice

Description:

To undertake teaching and scholarship in the area of Professional Practice in Architecture, including the development, delivery and evaluation of modules/programmes within the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching portfolio. To supervise students and to carry out administrative duties within the work area as required. To pursue excellence in, teaching and scholarship to inspire others to do the same.

The School is expanding its undergraduate provision in the area of Architectural Practice and Ethics. We are looking for individuals with a broad understanding and experience of Professional Practice, Ethical Practice and design and practice management in architecture who will be able to lead a range of teaching activities (lectures, workshops, seminars) and conduct appropriate assessments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching
 

• Design and deliver teaching programmes for courses and contribute to module development as part of a module team

Grade 7: independently contribute to module and course development and lead modules
 

• Inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students under the guidance of a mentor / module leader and develop skills in assessment methods and in providing constructive feedback to students.
• Supervise the work of students including the supervision of Undergraduate and Master’s students and the co-supervision of PGR’s

Grade 7: Acts as a PGR progress review panel member as required
 

• Monitor and sign off PEDRs / Records of Work Experience, providing personal support and career advice in the process, including on employment situation and professional experience acquired.
• Supply pastoral care through both acting as a Personal Tutor and providing support and guidance to students, building, and establishing trust.
• Supervise student assignments, projects, field trips and where appropriate coordinate workplace monitoring.
