Catering to a substantial user base exceeding one million per month, their digital platform's significance escalates in tandem with their expanding membership and the progressive integration of technology in the health and wellness sector.

 

As the Technical Architect, you will be bringing the vast breadth and depth of your experience with web, cloud and data technologies to bear on many interesting challenges, helping the group to complete their transition to an industry leading, fully cloud-native, always-available architecture.

You will be hands-on in this engineering function and you will liaise across Product, Engineering, Platform and Site Reliability teams, to maintain the platform and applications roadmap.

 

You will ensure that the design of new services and features is optimal in the context of the company's tech ecosystem, considering various functional and non-functional attributes, such as performance, availability, observability, security and cost.

You will maintain a strategic vision, ensuring that a fast-paced development cycle converges on your preferred target architecture.

You will become the company's subject matter expert on architectural best practice in the Digital and Cloud Engineering spaces.

You will be in a position to strongly advocate for the leading edge in tools and practices with a pragmatic approach to legacy systems.

 

Skills and Experience Required: Essential

 

💡Technical Architecture Experience:

  • UML or a similar framework (sequence, use case, activity diagrams)
  • Cloud Architectural Patterns (like SOA, CQRS, BFF)
  • Software design patterns and practices
  • API-based interaction design
  • Event-driven Architectures
  • API design, Including RESTful and Graph APIs
  • Familiar with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or FEAF
  • Familiar with modern software engineering methodologies and the digital product lifecycle
  • DevSecOps best tools and practices
  • Regulatory and industry standards like PCI DSS, ISO 27001, OWASP, ISO 9000 range
  • You can produce clear documentation and Design Artefacts with a proven record in Technical Architecture

 

☁️Technology Experience:

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure
  • Kubernetes and containerisation patterns
  • SQL Server, Redis, Cosmos DB or other Document DBs
  • Service Bus and distributed messaging architectures
  • APM tools and practices, including Azure Monitor
  • Recent experience with programming and scripting languages (which might include C#, JavaScript/TS, bash, PowerShell or Python)
  • Node, React and node-based SSR tools like Next.js
  • Modern web application development practices
