Description:
We’re looking for a Lead Product (UX) Designer to join our Product Design team in Nottingham.
You’ll be joining a well established Design team, which includes Product Design, Design Strategy and our in-house creative Studio. The role will be dedicated to supporting our Customer strategies - helping to ensure our existing customers are succeeding with credit.
We’re looking for an experienced designer who has previous experience in (or is ready for) people leadership - as part of your time will be spent supporting and managing a small team of UX, UI and Content designers.
What you’ll do
- Partner with multi-disciplinary teams from across the business to co-create and shape Capital One’s digital products and experiences.
- Manage a small team of UX, UI and Content designers - supporting their day to day work, career progression and development.
- Apply strategic thinking to design effective and engaging end-to-end user experiences that carefully balance user needs, business goals, and technological capabilities.
- Be an active member of our well established Design Team, collaborating openly to create design solutions, review work and maintain our exceptional standard of output.
- Communicate concepts at a high level using wireflows and prototypes, seeking diverse perspectives and input from key partners to effectively drive the intent forward into market.
- Be customer obsessed - seeking and applying insights that ensure the experiences we’re creating are meeting our customers needs and helping them to be successful with credit.
- Build strong relationships with your partners in Tech - get to know the engineers, their needs and their operational challenges and opportunities to deliver the right solution into our customer’s hands.
- Effectively prioritising and delivering your expected outcomes and proactively assisting colleagues where needed to help the team's success.
What we’re looking for
- An impressive portfolio showcasing a solid understanding of user experience and interaction strategies that drive positive outcomes.
- You enjoy and have experience in developing designers’ skills and careers.
- Proven experience of advocacy for the customer and applying user insights to your thinking, as well as experience designing complex solutions for mobile app and web.
- Experience using Figma and related design tools.
It would also be beneficial (but not essential) if you had:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate studies in HCI, Design, Computer Science or other related field.
- Experience working in an Agile development process.
- Project management experience, particularly in tooling such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience working with web and mobile based technologies for strong conversations with tech partners.
