Description:
Mott MacDonald is hiring a Land Consultant to assist with major infrastructure schemes, delivering high-quality land ownership information for clients. The role involves conducting research using Land Registry records and Ordnance Survey maps, engaging with landowners and agents, and supporting infrastructure projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake land referencing activities, including identification and interpretation of detailed land rights through HM Land Registry research and landowner questionnaires.
- Liaise with landowners, general public, and property owners to collect land ownership information.
- Work with GIS & Mapping teams to produce Land Ownership and Access Plans.
- Manage statutory notices, access licenses, and produce associated documents.
- Organize land access for environmental surveys with landowners.
- Liaise with Local Authorities and other bodies for details on public rights of way, highways, and other land matters.
- Report writing, production of weekly and monthly reports.
- Work within a consents and engagement team, including planners, stakeholder engagement specialists, and GIS experts.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography or relevant discipline.
- Experience in delivering land services on infrastructure schemes is preferred.
- Knowledge of statutory planning processes and procedures.
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel within the UK.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in tasks like data capture and document production.
