Description:

Worcester Community Trust is seeking a JOY Project Worker to provide maternity cover across six districts in Worcestershire. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged women. The successful candidate will work alongside the JOY Project Lead to plan, deliver, and support weekly group sessions, as well as collect data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.

The JOY Project is focused on providing tailored support to women, including access to services such as domestic abuse support, mental health, housing, benefits, and financial advice. The project worker will assist in creating personal development plans for clients, offer one-to-one support, and design group work to help build self-confidence, empowerment, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-to-1 and group support for vulnerable women.
  • Carry out assessments and make referrals to specialist services (e.g., domestic abuse, mental health).
  • Assist clients in creating personal development plans and set achievable goals.
  • Facilitate group work to build peer support networks and develop skills.
  • Encourage volunteer recruitment and support volunteers and peer mentors.
  • Assist with performance monitoring and project evaluation.
  • Help clients overcome barriers to accessing services.
  • Travel across six Worcestershire districts and be available to work evenings and weekends.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with vulnerable women.
  • Experience providing one-to-one and group support.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-agency support and safeguarding practices.
  • Experience creating and delivering action plans and courses to groups.
  • Ability to work with volunteers and develop volunteer opportunities.
  • IT skills for maintaining accurate records and data collection.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Solution-focused coaching skills.
  • Adaptability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in conflict management and responding to high-risk situations.
  • Knowledge of the local community and voluntary sector.
