It Technician

Your duties will include:

Respond to and keep service desk tickets up to date.

  • Respond to IT incidents, problems and requests resolving them in line with agreed levels of service and to the user’s satisfaction, recording all information as required by local IT processes.
  • Support users in using standard office systems and other software in use across Livability Nash College.
  • Set-up, maintain and remove user accounts, file sharing and mailboxes as required and in line with audit and security policies and procedures.
  • Install and test new software, download and apply updates and patches in line with agreed policy and procedures. Build packages as required.
  • Build/configure/install desktop systems, laptops, and mobile devices ensuring user satisfaction.
  • Undertake routine monitoring and maintenance tasks including server monitoring. Attend out of hours where necessary to assist in resolving incidents and/or undertake planned maintenance with minimum impact on users.

 


Applicants should have previous experience within an IT support environment. Experience working in the education sector and knowledge of augmentative and assistive computer equipment and technologies is desirable. A sound understanding of of PC hardware architecture and assembly plus IT support processes and their associated business benefits is essential as are excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer service mind set.

 


The successful candidate will have a good eye for detail, a methodical approach, with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.

 

Site specific induction, training and CPD is offered along with this role along with the opportunity to undertake professional qualifications.
