Description:

The IT department at Rother District Council plays a leading role in developing service delivery and assisting the Council’s digital transformation to become fit for the future. This is a really great opportunity for candidates to learn, grow and development to springboard a career within IT.

Please note that occasional working out of normal office hours will be required for this post.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing IT helpdesk support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues on Windows, Office, and the 160 systems we run.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of key IT systems and equipment.
  • Deploying IT equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
  • Collaborating with other IT team members to identify recurring issues and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability
  • Maintaining and updating IT equipment inventory, performing upkeep as needed.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office 365, and common desktop applications
  • Working under pressure and dealing with competing demands and deadlines
  • Previous experience in a similar first line support role, preferably in a public sector or local government environment
  • A proactive and customer-focused attitude, with a commitment to delivering high-quality support services
  • Excellent Communication skills, written and verbal
